Just thought I would help out my peeps.  There's a lot of books that are titled "how to write a ....... screenplay".  I don't know if it's a series or whatever but they have one for like every genre.  I bought the one for thrillers by Neil Hicks and it helped out with plot.  It helps you with all of your beats.  It uses North by Northwest as an example.  That movie kicks ass!!  Kiss  Love these faces.

I don't think Neil Hicks does but I've seen a few.  I'm pretty sure there's one on every genre.

To Alexs:  Yeah I would check Sam French. I actually got my copy at a barnes and noble in burbank.

Wotcha

I have that Neil Hicks book and it is a good read, I also have his book on writing action/adventure movies which is equally good.

I've got a few of these 'genre' books - some good, some not so good - but as well as those two I can recommend the following for those that are interested:
The Secrets of Action Screenwriting by William C Martell
Writing the Fantasy Film by Sable jak
Writing the Romantic Comedy by Billy Mernit

and for general plot development, Story Structure Architect by Victoria Lynn Schmidt

Mostly they're available from Amazon, but you could also try Michael Wiese Publishing at http://www.mwp.com/books/writing/

Cheers!
