Depends on who's buying.  The stat that's thrown around a lot is first time writers CAN sell a spec for 6 figures.

How much do you usually get for selling your screenplay?

First time writers usually get WGA minimums.  The stories of big paydays are notable because they aren't the norm.

If it's not a WGA franchised company, then you might be offered anything.  In many cases, nothing.
