Manager

I recently signed with a manager and they basically sat me down and came up with a strategy on how to move forward with my career. I've written a lot of scripts but I haven't sold anything yet. They basically like my writing but they don't think any of my work is commercial enough. They basically want to work with me as I write my next script. Is that normal? Basically I'm writing down all of my ideas and meeting with them on Friday to go over them to see which is the best one to go with. I'm planning writing outlines and registering them with the guild before the meeting, but do you think they just want to steal my ideas? They're a well known management company but I still can't help being a little paranoid. What do you think?

Being paranoid comes with the territory, however, you cannot be paranoid with your representatives. Especially when you say they are a well established management company. Of course they want to make your scripts more marketable, that's their job. To make you and themselves some money. I recently pitched to a studio and my managers had me come up with 15 ideas. We went over all of them and narrowed the list to six. I then worked with them to develop those six ideas into short pitches. That's how it works.
